The Importance of Giving Thanks to Allah SWT

In the Quran, Allah reminds all mankind to always be grateful. Being thankful will earn you more favor with God. Be ready for the faults that are attained, though, if not. The Quran contains Allah’s instructions on gratitude, one of which is,
And when your Lord announced: “If you give thanks, I will give you more; but if you are ungrateful, My punishment is severe.”(QS. Ibrahim: 7)

In addition, gratitude is the nature of a Muslim. For believing that every favor comes only from God. It is certain, then, that all that is gained in the world comes from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. The Messenger of Allaah ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam once said about this, namely that:

Abu Yahya Suhaib bin Sinan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that:The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him.[Muslim].
