Duas qunut means a prayer that is said while standing tall in a prayer whose law is sunnah.
Etymologically the word qunut (Arabic: الْقُنُوْتُ, qunut) comes from Arabic which has several meanings, among them standing for a long time, being silent, always obedient, submissive, praying, and solemn. Meanwhile, qunut is a prayer that a Muslim reads in prayer.

Allahummah dinii fii man haadaiit, Wa ‘aafinii fiiman ‘aafait, wa tawallanii fii man tawallaiit, Wa baarik lii fii ma a’thaiit, Wa qinni birohmatika syarra maa qadhaiit, Fa innaka taqdhi wa la yuqdha ‘alaiik, Wa innahu la yazillu man wa lait, Wa la ya’izzu man ‘adait, Tabarakta rabbana wa ta’alait, Fa lakal hamdu a’la ma qadhait, Astagfiruka wa atubu ilaik, Wa shallallahu ‘ala sayyidina muhammadin Nabiyyil ummiyyi Wa ‘ala alihi Wa shahbihi Wa sallam.
English Translation
“O God, give me instructions like those whom thou hast instructed. Give me health as the one whom You have given health. Give blessings to all that You have given me. And preserve me from the evil which thou hast ascertained. Indeed, it will not be despised those whom You have given power. And it will not be glorious that thou hast fought. Blessed are You and You are Most Sublime. Praise be to Thee for what You have ascertained. I beg for mercy and return (Torah) to You. May Allah give mercy, blessings, and greetings to the Prophet Muhammad and his family.”
Benefits and Virtues of Qunut Prayer
In the historical hadith of Al Baihaqi, Anas bin Malik explained the virtues of reading the Arabic short Dawn qunut prayer, namely
“The Messenger of Allah SAW recited the qunut prayer for a month praying ugliness for them. Then left him. Meanwhile, at the Dawn prayer, he continued to recite the qunut prayer until his death.”
Reading the Qunut prayer has several advantages and benefits that can be obtained by the person reading the Qunut prayer. Some of the benefits of reading the Qunut prayer are as follows
1. Qunut Dua Gives His Servant Instructions
The reading “Allahummahdinii fii man hadaiit” means a servant’s request to God to be given instructions. Reading the qunut prayer continuously during the shubuh prayer, God willing, Allah will bestow instructions on his servants.
2. Qunut’s Dua For Protection
By reading the Qunut prayer always in the protection of Allah Almighty both salvation in the world and salvation for the hereafter.
The sentence in Qunut’s prayer ” Wa’aafinii fii man ‘afaiit” means to give the servant of salvation as the other servant of Thy who has been given salvation.

Salat Subuh Dua Without Qunut Is It Okay?
The law of reading the qunut prayer of Subuh is sunnah so that when read it brings reward and if it is not read it does not matter.
