Surah Ar-Rum Verse 21 describes sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah in carrying out marriage, which if we life it with affection we can be successful in the household.

Transliteration
Wa min āyātihī an khalaqa lakum min anfusikum azwājal litaskunū ilaihā wa ja’ala bainakum mawaddataw wa raḥmah, inna fī żālika la`āyātil liqaumiy yatafakkarụn
English Translation
“And among his signs (greatness) is that he created pairs for you of your own kind, that you might be inclined and feel at peace with him, and he made among you a sense of love and affection. Truly, in such a one there are really signs (of the greatness of God) for the thinking people.” (QS. Ar-Rum: 21)
Interpretation
And among the signs of His greatness is that He has created pairs for you, male with female and vice versa, of your own kind that you may be inclined and have a love for him and feel at peace with him after being united in the bonds of marriage; and as a manifestation of His mercy. He makes among you the potential to have a sense of love and affection for his partner so that both of them must help each other to make it happen for the formation of a solid household building. Indeed, there are truly signs of God’s greatness for those who think that the growth of love is a gift of God that must be guarded and directed in the right direction and through the right ways.
