السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمُ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ نَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ

Transliteration

Assalaamu ‘alaykum ‘ahlad-diyaari, minal-mu’mineena walmuslimeena, wa ‘innaa ‘in shaa’ Allaahu bikum laahiqoona [wa yarhamullaahul-mustaqdimeena minnaa walmusta’khireena] ‘as’alullaaha lanaa wa lakumul- ‘aafiyata.

English Translation

Oh Muslims residing here, salaams on you, by the will of Allah we will also be coming to you. We seek safety for us and you.

What did Prophet Muhammad say about visiting graves?

Ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I had prohibited you from visiting graves, but you may visit them now. Verily, they will weaken your attachment to the world and remind you of the Hereafter.” Source: Sunan Ibn Mājah 1571
Abdullah ibn Abi Mulaykah reported: Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, returned one day from the graveyard. I said, “O mother of the believers, from where have you returned?” Aisha said, “From the grave of my brother, Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Bakr.” I said, “Did not the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibit you women from visiting graves?” Aisha said, “Yes, he prohibited us at first, but then he commanded us to visit them.”Source: al-Sunan al-Kubrá 6659
Buraydah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to teach them as they went to visit the graves, saying to their inhabitants, “Peace be upon you, O people of this abode, from the believers and the Muslims. Anas reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I had prohibited you from visiting the graves, but it occurred to me that now you may visit them.
