Duas After Ablution in Arabic, Transliteration, and English Translation – In Arabic ablution is derived from the word al-wadha’ah ( الوَضَاءَة ). Ablution is one of the ways to get rid of small hadas.

In kitab al-Majmu’ Syarh al-Muhadzdzab, Imam An-Nawawi (d. 676 H), says:
“The word ablution comes from wadha’ah whose meaning is cleanliness.”
“Ablution according to the term syar’i is a special activity that begins with intention. Or the activity of using water on a special limb that begins with intention.”
قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: {مَنْ تَوَضَّأ لِلصَّلاَةِ فَأحْسَنَ الْوُضُوْءَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَإنَّهُ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خَطِيْئَتِهِ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أمُّهُ}.
It means: “The Prophet SAW said, “Whoever abides for prayer, and then he repairs his ablutions (taking into account the conditions, fardhu, and adab), then he performs the prayers, then he will come out of his guilt like the day on which he was born his mother.”
In the Kitab al-Majmu’ Syarh al-Muhadzdzab by Imam an-Nawawi (d. 676 H), it is mentioned that it is forbidden to ablution the intention of ablution before ablution. After understanding the definition of ablution is and its definition, here is the intention when going to perform ablution.

Asyhadu al laa ilaaha illallah wahdahu laa syariika lah, wa asyhadu anna muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuuluhu. Allahumma ij’alni minat tawwaabiina waj’alni minal mutathahhiriin. Subhaanaka allahumma wa bihamdika asyhadu al laa ilaaha illa nta astaghfiruka wa atuubu ilaik. Wa shallallahu ‘ala sayyidina Muhammad wa `aali Muhammad.
English Translation
“I testify that there is no God but Allah, and no ally to Him, and I testify that indeed the Prophet Muhammad was a servant and messenger of Allah. O God, make me part of the repentants and make me part of the saints. Most holy thou O God, and by praising Thee. I testify there is no God but You, I ask You for forgiveness and repent of You. May the blessings of Allah’s mercy always be bestowed on the prophet Muhammad and his family.”
