Surah Al Hujurat Verse 13 about the creation of human beings of different ethnic groups to know each other. This is in accordance with the term we often hear “Don’t know then don’t love”
Surah Al Hujurat Verse 13 in Arabic, Transliteration, and English Translation
Arabic
يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ ذَكَرٍ وَّاُنْثٰى وَجَعَلْنٰكُمْ شُعُوْبًا وَّقَبَاۤىِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوْا ۚ اِنَّ اَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ اَتْقٰىكُمْ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ
Transliteration
yā ayyuhan-nāsu innā khalaqnākum min żakariw wa unṡā wa ja’alnākum syu’ụbaw wa qabā`ila lita’ārafụ, inna akramakum ‘indallāhi atqākum, innallāha ‘alīmun khabīr
English Translation
“O man! Truly, We have created you from a man and a woman, and then We made you nations and tribes so that you might know each other. Indeed, the noblest of you by God’s side are the most devout. Truly, Allah is all-knowing, all-knowing. (Q.S Al Hujurat : 13)”
Interpretation
O, man! Truly, We have created you from a man and a woman, who are of the same lineage that is Adam and Eve. All human beings are the same degree of humanity, there is no difference between one tribe and another. Then We made you nations and tribes so that you know each other and thus help each other, not make fun of each other and antagonize each other. God does not like people who show pride with posterity, wealth, or rank because truly the noblest of you by God’s side is the most devout person. Therefore strive to increase piety to become a noble person by God’s side. Truly, God is all-knowing of all things both born and hidden, so thorough that not a single gesture and deed of man escapes His knowledge.
