English Translation
“God, there is no god but Him. The Omnilifean, the One who constantly takes care of (His creatures), is not sleepy and does not sleep. Belongs to Him what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. No one can intercede by His side without His permission. He knew what was before them and what was behind them, and they knew nothing about His knowledge but what He wanted. His seat encompasses heaven and earth. And He does not feel the weight of nurturing both, and He is all-high, the Most Great.” (Q.S Al Baqarah : 255)
Interpretation
God; there is no god worthy of worship and godliness but Him. The Omnipresent, eternal, and having all meanings of perfect life, Who continually takes care of His creatures. Unlike man, He is neither sleepy nor sleepy, for both are deficient qualities that make Him unable to take care of His creatures. Belongs to Him what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. He Who creates, maintains, possesses, and acts on all of them. No one can intercede for help by His side without His permission. He is so mighty and powerful that speaking before Him must also be after his blessing, even what is conveyed must be something true. He knew what was before them, what was and would happen, and what was behind them, that was something that had passed.
God knows what they do and plan, whether it relates to the present, the past, or the future. And they know nothing of His knowledge but of what He wants them to know by showing and informing them. His seat, that is, the dominion, knowledge, or Ayat AL-Qursi on which the two legs of God (which are unknown in essence except by God) stand, is vast, encompassing the heavens and the earth. And don’t expect that because His Ayat Al-Qursi is too spacious, He is weary of taking care of it all. Not! He finds neither heaviness nor difficulty preserving both, and He is the Most High in His substance and attributes when compared to His creatures, the Most Great with all His majesty and dominion. This is the Verse of the Ayat Al-Qursi, the greatest verse in the Qur’an because it includes the names and attributes of Allah that demonstrate the perfection of His substance, knowledge, power, and majesty. This verse is called the Ayat AL-Qursi. Whoever reads it will have God’s protection and will not be disturbed by Satan.
