A glimpse of duha prayers

The dhuha prayer is one of the special sunnah prayers. There are many benefits and virtues if a Muslim regularly performs this sunnah prayer. This prayer is known as the sunnah prayer to ask for sustenance from Allah Almighty.

عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ أَوْصَانِي حَبِيبِي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ لَنْ أَدَعَهُنَّ مَا عِشْتُ بِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ وَصَلَاةِ الضُّحَى وَبِأَنْ لَا أَنَامَ حَتَّى أُوتِرَ
Abu Darda reported: My beloved friend, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, instructed me with three deeds I will never leave for as long as I live: fasting three days a month, performing forenoon prayer, and not sleeping until performing Witr prayer. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 722

3. Made a Palace in Heaven

A person who performs duha prayers regularly will get a magnificent palace in heaven someday.
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ مَنْ صَلَّى الضُّحَى ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ‏”‏
Anas bin Malik narrated that :
Allah’s Messenger said: “Whoever prays twelve Rak’ah of Ad-Duha, Allah will build a castle made of gold for him in Paradise.”  Source:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 473

‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah Almighty says: O son of Adam, suffice Me with four cycles of prayer at the beginning of the morning and by them I will suffice you for the rest of your day.” Source: Musnad Aḥmad 17390

5. Duha prayer better than spoils of war

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِي قَالَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً فَغَنِمُوا وَأَسْرَعُوا الرَّجْعَةَ فَتَحَدَّثَ النَّاسُ بِقُرْبِ مَغْزَاهُمْ وَكَثْرَةِ غَنِيمَتِهِمْ وَسُرْعَةِ رَجْعَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَقْرَبَ مِنْهُ مَغْزًى وَأَكْثَرَ غَنِيمَةً وَأَوْشَكَ رَجْعَةً مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ غَدَا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ لِسُبْحَةِ الضُّحَى فَهُوَ أَقْرَبُ مَغْزًى وَأَكْثَرُ غَنِيمَةً وَأَوْشَكُ رَجْعَةً
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dispatched a company. They acquired spoils and rushed back to tell people about how close was their battle, how many their spoils, and how quickly they returned. The Prophet said, “Shall I not tell you what is closer than a battle, more plentiful than spoils, and a swifter return? One who performs ablution, then goes to the mosque in the morning to glorify Allah in the forenoon. It is a closer battle, more plentiful spoils, and a swifter return.”Source: Musnad Aḥmad 6638

6. Salat al-Duha is prayer of repentant

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُحَافِظُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الضُّحَى إِلَّا أَوَّابٌ وَهِيَ صَلَاةُ الْأَوَّابِينَ
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “None preserve the forenoon prayer but the penitent. It is the prayer of the penitent.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Ibn Khuzaymah 1224

7. Every part in your body receives charity thanks to it.

The Prophet Muhammad SAW said : “In the morning, every single joint of yours must pay a sadaqah (charity). Every SubhanAllah is a sadaqah, every Alhamdulillāh is a sadaqah, every La Ilaha Illa Allah is a sadaqah, every Allahu Akbar is a sadaqah, every commanding good is a sadaqah, and every forbidding evil is a sadaqah, and all this is accomplished through two rakʿahs one can pray in Duha [prayer].”[3]

8. Getting the reward of Hajj and Umrah

Only by performing duha prayers can you get a thigh equivalent to performing Hajj and Umrah
The Prophet Muhammad SAW said; “Whoever prays the Fajr prayer then sits in his place of prayer remembering Allah until sunrise, then prays two rakʿahs, shall be rewarded as if he had performed Hajj and ʿUmrah, with a reward that is complete, complete, complete.”[7
